We're looking for a motivated Seaweed Technician to join our team.

About the Role

As a Seaweed Technician, you will play a key role in the cultivation and production of seaweed. You’ll support the maintenance of aquaculture systems and contribute to production outcomes through hands-on technical work and data reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivation and production of seaweeds

  • Technical support and routine maintenance of aquaculture systems

  • Collection, processing, and reporting of production data

About You

We're looking for someone practical, hardworking, and passionate about the environment. This role suits someone who enjoys hands-on work, values sustainability, and thrives in coastal, outdoor environments.

Desirable

  • Qualifications or experience in aquaculture or marine science

  • Experience in commercial aquaculture or related industries

Selection Criteria (Essential)

  • Completion of a Bachelor of Science or minimum 3 years of experience working in a similar position within the aquaculture industry.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team to meet operational deadlines.

  • High level of organisational capability, time management and prioritisation skills.

  • Proven computer literacy with systems and procedures documentation.

  • Ability to read, analyse and interpret detailed procedures.

  • Excellent communication skills and initiative.

  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.

  • A helpful, courteous manner with a strong focus on support.

  • Experience maintaining safe work practices in a laboratory or aquaculture environment, in particular the safe handling of chemicals.

  • Current full driver’s licence.
